MLM Laundry Soap Ingredients

ALookAtDirectSalesLaundrySoapsWe are taking a look at as many Multi-Level Marketing (MLM, aka direct sales aka network marketing) laundry soaps as we could find. We wanted to see which MLM disclosed a full and complete list of their ingredients on their website. Be sure to note that we are talking about ingredients listed on their website. This is important because the typical consumer/buyer, who wants to know exactly what they are purchasing before they purchase, would not typically have access to the actual product. So, if the ingredients are listed on the bottle but not on the website, that is a problem. Also, we did attempt to find the ingredients by searching for the products label. Will your MLM meet the criteria for a thumbs up? A few of these may surprise you!

We are listing these in alphabetic order and the order of the list has nothing, at all, to do with which is better. We will do that breakdown in a later post. Hopefully, by that time, we will have a full list of ingredients from those that are missing at the time of this post.

Before we begin lets be clear that we are in no way attempting to bash any MLM. It is our hope that by disclosing who is and is not being transparent, that the ones that are missing will allow their independent representatives to come together to encourage their company to be transparent and disclose their ingredients on their website. With so many green, clean choices out there, it harms a hardworking direct sales rep to hide behind terms, such as; proprietary, secret, or our all time favorite, “just trust us!”

Who else feels as if the company is hiding something when they are not completely transparent? Did you know companies do not have to disclose ingredients on cleaners? They only have to disclose ingredients that have been deemed toxic, allergenic, and/or an irritant of some sort. That’s right, a company does not have to disclose the full list of ingredients of their product. So, even when they provide a list, you really do not know for sure if it is a complete list. Are you thinking it is time for a change in regulations? We agree!

What the thumb icons mean

ThumbsUp the green, thumbs up, icon means that the company provided, what appears to be, a full list of ingredients. It does not mean we agree and/or would use the product.

ThumbsMiddle the yellow, thumbs in the middle, icon means the company attempted to provide a list of ingredients (actually used the word ingredients with a colon behind it) but the list was pretty obvious that it was not a full disclosure.

ThumbsDown the red, thumbs down, icon means the company made no attempt to disclose a full list of ingredients (there was not the word “ingredient” with a colon behind it anywhere to be found). This does not mean that we would or would not use the product listed.

Our Thoughts

It is our belief that every company should provide a full and complete list of ingredients. We, as consumers and buyers, have a right to know what we are putting onto our skin… before the nay-sayers jump on that comment, let us clarify… no, we do not put laundry soap directly onto our skin, per-say but the chemicals (good and bad) from the soap are on our clothes and when we wear our clothes, those chemicals (good and bad) are absorbed into our skin. So, yes, we should be concerned about the products we are using. Not only do we have the possibility of absorbing them into our skin but we are exposed in other ways, such as inhalation.

With that said, if you are a representative of an MLM that did not provide a complete and full disclosure of your products ingredients… stand up, gather your troops (team), reach out to your upline(s) and demand they disclose! Tell them you want transparency.

Why? More and more consumers are becoming aware of the importance of using products that are free of harmful chemicals (remember even water, H2O, is a chemical). And, consumers have way more choices than ever before… so, if your company is not being transparent, if they are hiding behind proprietary and other such terms, they are costing you money! Your consumers will find products that do offer transparency.

One caveat before we end this post… ingredients should be listed, right there, on the same page as where the product is featured… or, at the very least, via a tab that is not hidden on the page. In other words, it should not take “an act of congress” to uncover the ingredients list. So, if we missed any, consider what we said, they should be easy to find.

Yes, we know there are a LOT of pure, clean, transparent non-MLM brands out there. Yes, we know you can make your own, for those that are so inclined. However, this post is specifically about laundry soaps from MLM’s.

Oh, and if you are with an MLM that offers a laundry soap, and we missed your MLM, drop us a note and let us know. We will be happy to add it to the list.

Be sure to follow our blog as we take a look at other product ingredients! and leave your thoughts, good or bad, we want to hear from you!

  1. Of course, all Norwex Consultants have access to the full ingredient lists and can share them with customers ❤️

  2. Any Norwex consultant can give you a complete ingredient list for any product. You have to purchase through a consultant anyway so it’s not that hidden.

  3. But why isn’t the ingredient list on the Norwex package? We are talking about transparency. The package only list what is not in it. Hmmm. Something to think about.

  4. The $64 question: Do the laundry products actually get your clothes clean? It would be interesting to see comparisons of HOW EFFECTIVE the various products are. After all, when you purchase a product to get your dirty clothes clean, It should do what it is marketed and designed to do.

    1. Great suggestion, Nancy! We can put this on our list to study in the future. Keep an eye on the blog we have another review coming soon and this one is HUGE! Thanks for writing.

  5. This seems like a pretty ridiculous list! What it should give is which ones are the best and the least TOXIC! That is all I care about. All of them have the ingredients on the package! Good grief!

    1. Thank you for writing. We appreciate everyone, no matter their stance. Unfortunately, not every company provides a list of ingredients on their product and current regulations do not require them to do so. The purpose of the list was to bring awareness to this fact.

We, at Field and Herbs, believe every consumer has a right to know what they are purchasing before the product is purchased and hope the majority of our readers would agree.

  6. Just an FYI Ask any Norwex consultant what the ingredients are and they will tell you every ingredient.

    1. Yes, however, if you read the majority of the peoples feelings on this, they do not want to have to do that. People value companies who are transparent, up front, without having to go to lengths to obtain this information. In this day and age of so many options for products you will find people will go elsewhere before going to lengths to get what should be made easily available to them… especially when your competition provides this up front.

Our recommendation is to encourage the company you are with to be transparent and place the information on the products web page. Easy, quick, and simple. Give the public what they want or they will go elsewhere.
